I had to right this for a english project. We had a picture of an old shoe on the board, then had to write a story about it.
Hear it is, hope you enjoy.

                                                                                              The Shoe of Life

I look down at the beach where my body was washed up after I died; the beach in New Orleans, where Hurricane Katrina ruined many peoples lives. Then I see something, old and dirty against the white, grainy sand. I peer down closer, and see it is a shoe. Ruined from the many years it sat in the water.  As I turn around, I see something glint from the side of the shoe. I look closer, and see that there is a TH in silver letters glistening from the shoe. I gasp, as I remember when my dad got me those shoes, seven years ago.

"Dad," I yelled, "Can we please go to the store now?"
"Ok, I will be about five minutes. If you want, you can walk over there, and I will meet you there."
"Thanks Dad!"
I ran down to the local shoe store, and started admiring the shoes. When my dad finally came, I had three pairs of shoes that I wanted.
"20 dollars, 27 dollars, and 54 dollars," My dad said while reading the price tags of the shoes, "Tony, you know that we are on a tight budget, you can get the ones that are 20 and 27 dollars, but not the 54 dollar ones, they are two expensive."
"But dad, it says on the tag that they are really good quality, and last up to seven years, and look," I said while showing his dad the side of the shoe, "It says TH on the side of the shoe, it is the companies name, but it could be my initials too! It would be like my own personalized shoes."
My dad examines the shoes then finally says "If you promise to wear them all the time, I guess we could get them."
"Oh thank you, thank you!" I say while giving my dad a hug.
I did not know at that time, that those shoes were going to be a big part of why I died. Now I stare done at the shoe, gawking at the fact that it has shown up, after many years. I will never forget the night I lost it, and my life.
"Should I pull the boat into the water Dad?" I yell up the beach to him, where he was unloading the fishing equipment from our old rundown car.
"Sure, but stand in the water holding it so it doesn't float away." He yelled back.
"Ok."
Two hours later my dad and I were far out in the ocean, off the Orlando shoreline. It was raining hard, and there didn't seem to be any fish. I was shivering, the wind blowing against me, and the water splashing in my face. "Dad, when are we going to go back?"
"I don't know, wait a second, what is that?" My dad said squinting into the horizon.
"Huh, I don't know," I said while standing up in our little, rocking boat.
"Tony! You know not to stand up in the boat!" My dad said while grabbing towards me.
Just then I lose my footing, and fall into the icy cold water. I gasp, and end up with a mouth full of salty sea water. "Tony!" My Dad screams, but I can't hear him that well because a big wave tore me apart from him and the boat.
The sky turned dark blue and the waves were getting bigger and bigger. I scream as a wave engulfed me. I try to tread water, but my shoes were dragging me down. I try to kick them off, but the tightly tied shoelaces dragged me under. I take my last breath, as the ocean sucks me under. My vision turns black, as I float down to the bottom of the ocean.
Seven years later I remember that day. I look down at the sunny beach again, and the shoe. Down the shoreline, I see someone walking up the beach. He has his hood pulled over his head, and seems depressed. When he comes across the shoe, he peers down at closely. Then he does something I don't expect, he kneels down to the shoe and starts sobbing.
After about five minutes the man picked up the shoe. He holds it tight against his chest, as he looks up, right at me. I see the sorrow and sadness in my father's eyes, as he remembers me, the big scar on the side on his face showing in the sunlight. He got that scar from a fishing trip, the night I died.

One of my friends started crying :p Did you like it? Please comment...
